Draft Day Has Arrived: Schlereth & Evans

Schlereth & Evans – 4/28/16 – The day we all have been waiting for has finally arrived as Stink and Mike talk all things NFL Draft before the first round kicks off tonight at 6 p.m. Lead ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter joins the guys to continue the draft day frenzy and ESPN Baseball Analyst Buster Olney also joins the guys to chat a little bit about the struggling Rockies.

Throughout all three hours of Schlereth & Evans and beginning at the top of Hour One the guys do a mock draft and try to predict all of the Broncos 10 draft selections. In Hour One they get through the first three rounds (in order) where Stink takes DE Robert Nkemdiche, OL Joshua Garnett, LB Jaylon Smith and QB Kevin Hogan.

Mike goes with four completely different picks that include (in order) S Vonn Bell, QB Christian Hackenberg, OT Kyle Murphy and DT Maliek Collins.

The Morning Brew also went down during the first hour where the gents chatted the Broncos first round pick, Von Miller’s comments on his contract negotiations, which QB the LA Rams will take first overall and the latest from the NBA and NHL playoffs.

Hour Two begins with Stink’s “Clear The Air” segment where he pleads to the Denver Broncos organization to NOT acquire Eagles QB Sam Bradford. Here Stink plead his case BELOW:

 Mark and Mike are then joined by ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter to talk everything Broncos on the morning of Draft Day that included his thoughts on the chances of Sam Bradford landing in Denver, which QB’s will go in the first round, why he thinks its important to try and draft a QB every single year. and which last minute trades could take place this evening. Stink and Mike close the middle hour with their fourth and fifth round picks with Schlereth taking (in order) FS Sean Davis in the fourth round and OL Christian Westerman and WR Kolby Listenbee in the fifth round.

Evans went with (in order) WR Keyarris Garrett in the fourth round and TE Ben Braunecker and LB Eric Striker in the fifth round.

The third and final hour of Thursday’s show begins with Buster Olney of ESPN joining the fellas to talk not only the Rockies and their current losing streak but to also chat about the other top stories around the MLB. They discussed the outfield gaps at Coors Field, Jake Arrieta and his current dominance streak, and which team from Chi Town is having a better start, the Cubs or the White Sox. The gents then finished their Broncos mock Draft with Stink taking (in order) DB Morgan Burns in the sixth round and LB Travis Feeney and TE David Morgan in the seventh round. Evans went with (in order) RB Keith Marshall in the sixth round and OL Denver Kirkland and a Long Snapper in the seventh round. 

The guys spent the rest of the third hour talking more NFL Draft and specifically the first round that happens tonight. They dive into if Memphis QB Paxton Lynch gets taken in the first round and whether or not Joel Klatt’s #1 guy on his big board, UCLA LB Myles Jack, is worth drafting with an impending micro fracture surgery needed in his knee.
