Broncos Draft Recap: Schlereth & Evans

Schlereth & Evans – 5/2/16 – Stink and Mike kick off the week with their impressions of the 2016 NFL Draft and in particular the Broncos’ draft selections and the guys’ thoughts on how well the team needs were addressed. They also dive into the Rockies sweep of the Diamondbacks this past weekend and their current first place standing in the NL West. They are also joined by Rockies Insider Chad Saunders as well as Broncos Insider Troy Renck to get his thoughts on the Broncos’ draft picks.

Hour One starts off with Mark and Mike diving right into their initial reactions of the 8 players drafted by the Denver Broncos this past weekend and the overall draft grade the guys would give Elway and the organization.
The Morning Brew then came at 6:30 where the fellas talked more Broncos draft picks, the CU and CSU kids drafted/signed, the draft day stories of Laremy Tunsil and Jerry Jones and the Rockies sweep of Arizona this past weekend.
The gents closed the first hour by taking some thoughts from the Total Beverage Text Line where opinions ranged from the Broncos are doomed at the QB position to Paxton Lynch can help the Broncos repeat as Super Bowl Champions.
Hour Two starts as it always does with Stink’s famed “Clear The Air” segment where he wants listeners to know that there are really only 3 true winners of the NFL Draft and the fans aren’t one of them. Check out who Stink says are the ultimate winners BELOW:
After Stink settles down the guys are joined by Rockies Insider Patrick Saunders to discuss the upward trending Colorado Rockies who are coming off a sweep of division rival Arizona this past weekend. The guys and Patrick talk the spectacle that is Nolan Arenado, the success of the starting pitching against the Diamondbacks and the sub-plot of Arenado and Trevor Story currently 1st and 2nd in the MLB HR category. Mark and Mike close the middle hour with chatter about the 8 Bronco draft picks and which guy out of those 8 they think will be able to come in and have the most immediate impact this upcoming season.

The final Hour of Monday’s show begins with our Broncos Insider Troy Renck joining the guys to give his take on the players selected by the Broncos in the draft as well as whether or not he thinks GM John Elway reached in the first two rounds with the picks of Lynch and Gotsis. They also chat the possibility of a fourth QB being added to the roster before training camp begins in July and the confidence he has in the coaching staff to turn all of these draft picks into viable starters at some point. The back half of Monday’s final hour consisted of Stink and Mike discussing the chances some these draft selections make an impact in the 2016 season and which ones will take more time to develop into a quality NFL player.
