Rockies Shutout Padres, Looking for Momentum: Schlereth & Evans

Schlereth & Evans – 5/5/16 – The guys spent Wednesday’s show discussing a mixed bag of sports stories both locally and nationally. They chatted the beginning of the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players, the Rockies shutout win over the Padres and the current QB situation for the Broncos over at Dove Valley. The guys are joined by ESPN Baseball Analyst Buster Olney to talk Rockies as well as other top baseball stories from around the MLB.

Hour One begins with Mark and Mike discussing Paxton Lynch and Mark Sanchez and who right now they think should begin the off season workouts as the starter. Mike compares Lynch’s numbers in college to Ben Roethlisberger’s numbers in college and discusses the similarities and differences between the two players.  

The guys then move on to The Morning Brew where they discuss Andrew Luck’s major fall in the NFL Network’s Top 100, the Rockies dominant win over San Diego and the Miami Heat breaking the 3-pt playoff game record last night against the Hawks.

They closed the opening hour with a conversation about Von Miller and his contract situation and who the fellas think currently has the leverage in those contract negotiations.

The second hour pops off with Stink’s “Clear The Air” segment where he begs the Broncos organization to sign Von Miller and get him in orange and blue for the rest of his career. Listen to Stink let it all out BELOW: 
4 Down Territory went down midway through the second hour where the fellas chat more NFL Top 100, Kaepernick throwing again after shoulder surgery, Bill Parcells’ impressions on the Patriots new Quarterback and Tom Brady selling his new cookbook for a whopping $200.

The middle hour closes with Stink & Evans taking some listener’s thought from the Total Beverage Text Line about Brady’s 4 game suspension to start the season and why Mark thinks so highly of Colts QB Andrew Luck.

The final hour of Thursday’s show commenced with Buster Olney of ESPN joining the guys to discuss the hottest topics within the Rockies and the MLB overall. They talk Tyler Chatwood and his dominant outings since Tommy John surgery last season, the recent influx in PED suspensions around the league and Tim Lincecum’s showcase tomorrow in Arizona. The gents spend the middle portion the third hour diving deeper into the current contract negotiations with LB Von Miller and just how important it is for the franchise’s future success to get him locked down to a long-term deal.

Hour Three closed with more fan texts about Von Miller and Stink and Mike’s thoughts on what it will take from the Broncos’ franchise to get a deal done with him.
