Champs Title Defense Officially Begins Today: Schlereth & Evans

Schlereth & Evans – 7/28/16 – The day has finally arrived for The Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos to begin  their title defense as training camp opens today at UC Health Training Center. Troy Renck of 7 News fills in for Stink as he and Mike are live from UC Health Training Facility for the first day of camp. They are joined by a star studded list of guests that include Broncos President & CEO Joe Ellis and Head Coach Gary Kubiak. Buster Olney of ESPN also joins the guys to discuss the Rockies hot start after the All-Star break.

 

LISTEN HOUR ONE HERE!

Hour one begins with Troy and Mike live from UC Health Training Facility as they discuss the release of Nick Foles from the Rams yesterday and the chances the Broncos are looking to add a 4th QB to the competition. 

The guys then dive into The Morning Brew where they discuss comments made by both Joe Ellis and Demaryius Thomas at the media portion of yesterday’s return to camp, the Rockies win in Baltimore last night and Ryan Fitzpatrick signing a 1 year deal with the New York Jets.

Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak then joined the show at the bottom of the hour to discuss everything related to the beginning of training camp. He and the guys talk the QB position and a timetable for selecting a starter, when he expects Aqib Talib to return to the practice field, improvements made to the offensive line and if he and the team ever talk about the goal of repeating as champs. LISTEN TO HOUR TWO HERE!

Hour two commences with Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis joining the gentlemen from UC Health Training Facility to speak about everything pertaining to training camp from a front office perspective. He shares his lessons learned from waiting until the July deadline to get the Von Miller deal inked, an update on where the stadium naming rights ordeal is at, the status of the Broncos ownership and his thoughts on Commissioner Roger Goodell’s job since he took over the position almost 10 years ago. 4 Down Territory then took place after our chat with Joe Ellis where the guys jumped into more Broncos comments pertaining to the start of camp, Nick Foles being released by the Rams yesterday and Ryan Fitzpatrick getting a 1-year deal signed right before Jets camp opens up. 

 

LISTEN TO HOUR THREE HERE!

Hour three began with ESPN baseball insider Buster Olney joining Troy and Mike to discuss all things MLB including what moves across the league he thinks will go down before the trade deadline on Monday, who the Rockies may be interested in trading/acquiring and the state of the Rockies franchise compared to this time last season. The bottom half of the third hour saw NFL Insider Cecil Lammey joining the guys to talk about the specific position battles we should be looking for throughout training camp and in particular which running back will win the spot and become C.J.
